- Weeds of the West, a book that can be downloaded for free. Provides photos, descriptions.
- Global Invasive Species Database, which can be searched by common name or scientific name, & provides photos, descriptions, uses, & management details.
- USDA National Invasive Species Information Center, which can be searched by common or scientific name, & provides photos, descriptions; distribution maps using EDDmapS mapping system; provides management details for some species.

- Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center: Database on native plants of North America, includes photos, descriptions, plant uses and benefits, North American distribution by States and Canadian Provinces. Database includes information on how to grow the plants or seeds. The Center, in Austin, Texas, provides tours of the Texas Botanic Gardens. The Center sponsors ecological research on native plants, provides education and outreach. The Center has created a seed bank, to collect & store seeds of native Texas plants, for research and restoration projects.

- Lone Star Field Guide to Wildflowers, Trees, & Shrubs of Texas. Book by Delena Tull & George Miller.
